Office: (865) 981-1165
During 13 years as a newspaper reporter, Joel has skydived with the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, helped a Morristown fifth-grader become a “Tonight Show” guest because of his smelly feet, and had folk singer Pete Seeger sing to him over the telephone.
Currently the county government reporter for The Daily Times in Maryville, Joel previously worked for The Mountain Press in Sevierville, The Yuma Daily Sun in Yuma, Arizona, and for The Morristown Citizen Tribune here in Tennessee.
There is life beyond the newspaper business, however; a product of his native Appalachia, Joel takes pride in knowing how to cook possum and put chickens to sleep. He’s also a photographer, a swordsman, a student of Renaissance history, a gardener, and a cook.
